CROHN'S..

Hello everyone, my name is Steven and I've been dealing with severe gut pain, hot coals rumbling through my gut, extreme diarrhea and cramping for over a month. My doctor referred me to the UNITED DOCTORS OF AMERICA, it took 2 weeks to get an appointment. When I did, it wasn't a doctor, it was a PA. I asked to see a doctor and was told that there wasn't one available that day. This happened twice. After all tests were done, the PA tells me that everything is normal, but she THINKS IT IS IBS-D. I called my doctor after hearing that and she got me in the same day. After looking at the CT SCAN showing the ascending colon and my colon are full of mucus fat deposits. She told me that I have Crohn's Disease. I've lost over 22 lbs in the last month and am constantly tired and have no appetite really. My question is, how do you deal with the gut pain and massive weight loss? On the plus side, my doctor was able to get me to a different Gastroenterologist and rushing the colonoscopy as fast as possible.

  1. Hi Steven
Welcome to a frustrating world of constant abdominal pain that can come and go in a flip of a switch and can last for minutes/hours or weeks/months.
There are meds that help. Steroids when having major flare are essential. But the side effects from Steroids can add to the symptoms.
I obtained my medical cannabis card to help assist my pharmaceutical meds for my crohns disease. The pain relief I obtain thru cannabis products is phenomenal. Helps with many of my symptoms. Helps with giving me energy during the day to deal with the severe fatigue. Helps with providing a calming effect, a sleep aid to help with the bouts of insomnia. Helps with appetite as well.
And for those whom look at cannabis as the Devil's Lettuce are missing out on all of the medicinal properties that cannabis obtains. Plus there are numerous ways to consume. Flower, gummies, extract, tincture, vape, dabs.
Many benefits to medicinal cannabis consumption for Crohn's disease.
I hope you find relief soon for your abdominal pain. Crohn's is a pain!
Crohn's is a pain in the a$$, literally!
Crohn's is a pain some days from head to toe!
Hang in there and utilize every medical assistance avenue provided to you to help you reach a pain free existence everyday.
