Flare up from colonoscopy?

Has anyone had a flare up post colonoscopy? My husband had another dose of his medicene a few weeks back as he delayed it due to covid but bleeding started and then he got his colonoscopy, routine, yesterday and they said only a little bit of inflammation and he now has all flare up symptoms. I feel so bad for him and am wondering if this has happened to anyone else?

  1. Oh yes! I have been thrown into severe flares actually, after having a colonoscopy. I'm sorry your husband is going through this. It will eventually subside. Lots of bone broth or chicken broth to soothe the gut. Make sure he eats nothing but his safe foods until symptoms improve. He's definitely not the only one to experience this.

    1. , I have had colonoscopy cause a flare up in the past, but, that said, it's normal to have some discomfort after a colonoscopy due to the amount of air they pump in there during. It can also lead to some bleeding if they have taken biopsies. So it could calm down in a few days - fingers crossed!

      1. Hi, I usually do not get flare symptoms after a colonoscopy but this time it seems I do. I was actually wondering about that too... 😳 My doctor also stated my gut had only a little bit of inflammation (this happened last Tuesday) so I was very surprised to feel so sick (nauseous, overall fatigued, dizzy, flu-like feel) the day after and yesterday the bleeding also started again.
If it is indeed the "aftermath" of the colonoscopy, that gives me hope, though.

        Thank you!

        1. ,

Yes, it could definitely be from the aftermath, but keep your eye on it. Definitely let your doctor know as well. If things worsen even in the slightest let them know.

          Feel better!
