Awaiting results can anybody share similar stories

Hi all im new to this. Im 34 year old male married with 2 children I would be fit and healthy. The past 8 months I have been getting a constant dull pain in my low left side. The pain is manageable doesnt affect my daily life I only notice it when im resting really. Recently all of my morning stools have had blood on them. I am awaiting my blood and stool sample results from doctor and waiting on date for colonoscopy. I have no constipation or diarrhea and my stools are mainly the same sometimes softish. Has anybody had symptoms like this and what was the outcome I am really fearing the worse outcome here.

  1. Hi Hector87, Can you get your Vitamin D & Vitamin B12 tests done. I believe either Vitamin(D, B12) deficiency could trigger inflammation especially I think it could be Vitamin D. I believe most of the IBD patients could suffer from these vitamins deficiency. Can you also take probiotics like Yoghurt(early in the morning) and probiotic curd etc during lunch and dinner. I would suggest improving Vitamin D & B12 if they are in deficiency along with probiotics as suggested above. Please reply in case if it helps. I would suggest you observe your health for 2-3weeks while following the above mentioned. Also, it is better if you can follow what your doctor has prescribed, nothing harm in that. The above mentioned[improving Vitamin D, B12 levels & probiotics] I believe shouldn't cause any serious issues. Taking probiotics should also reduce acidic refluxes in the stomach if any. Hope you will get better soon.

    1. Hi , I know symptoms such as the ones you're describing can be frightening and worrisome. There can be many reasons for bloody stool, sometimes it can be something in your diet that's causing it, or straining. I hope your results return soon and are able to provide some answers for you. Keep us updated, if you can! We're here for you. -Pam (team member)

        1. Thank you for sharing this update with us, @Hector87. Glad to hear there are no signs of cancer and that your biopsies are fine. I would ask your GI why he prescribed you 2 antibiotics just so you know for the future. Thanks again for being here!
