Has anyone here switched meds?

I have been getting infusions of Entifya every 6 to 8 years for 2 years, but still have symptoms. My doc is switching me to Vin Roq...Anyone here have a similar experience?

  1. Hi . There are definitely people here who understand the stress around deciding whether to change medications. Here is a Forum discussion on when to change biologics: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/forums/opinion-when-is-it-time-to-change-biologics. In addition, our contributor Julie Marie wrote about her experience dealing with change here: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/switching-biologics.
Concerning Rinvoq specifically, we have had a couple of Forums on the topic, such as here: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/forums/rinvoq-feedback and here: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/forums/newly-on-rinvoq. It is important to remember that what works for one may not for another. Hoping that you have some success with the change and please feel free to keep us posted on how things are going and to ask further questions should they arise. Best, Richard (Team Member)

  2. Have used Humira for years and years. Had an idiotic doctor who told me I didn’t need to change meds even though his PA said I did. All the old symptoms came back into play. Instant, explosive diarrhea, terrible stomach pain, ridiculous fatigue. Found a new doctor. Moved to Entivio infusions. No relief. Seeing a new doctor at the end of December. I have been dealing with Crohns since my mid twenties. I am now almost 65. Oh! And 2 resections. Don’t be afraid to find different doctors and don’t be afraid to stand up for your self.

    1. That sounds like an incredibly frustrating experience, , but good for you for advocating for yourself! You share such important advice to stand up for yourself and even find a new doctor if the current one isn't listening or being supportive. You certainly deserve relief! I'm crossing my fingers for you that this new doctor helps you find a treatment that brings relief. Please, if you're comfortable, let us know how it goes after your appointment. Wishing you a gentle day. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
