Medication

I received Remicade for Crohns in the late 90’s and it helped but I had a delayed allergic reaction. Fast forward to 2020 and I’ve developed chronic leukemia which my hematologist says is from the Remicade. Anyone else have this issue

  1. I am so sorry to hear that you have developed chronic leukemia, . How are you doing currently? If you would like to share more, please know this community is here for you.

Unfortunately, yes, some of the medication used to treat these types of chronic conditions have an increase risk of certain cancers. I hope any of our community members who have been diagnosed with leukemia can connect with you here. In the meantime, I did want to share with you our community dedicated to blood cancers (including leukemia), https://blood-cancer.com/, where you can connect with others impacted by blood cancers. If you're interested, you could also register for the community there and ask your question in one of their forums, while I can't say for certain, they might also have community members whose leukemia is connected to medication.

Wishing you a gentle day! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
