My whole story help needed

Hello Guys
I have been diagnosed with left sided UC in 2016 with 30 cm inflamed colon. In this 10 years i was using only pentasa tabs and few times i used pentasa enema.
However since 1 month im seeing blood again in stool and the enemas are not working, i did blood tests and everything was normal even the C- reactive protein was 2 and in a very normal range.
I dont have urgency and i dont have abdominal pain i just have gases little discomfort but im seeing blood in my stool and this is stressing me alot and even making my tinnitus worst !
Anyone can help or give an advice for me ?

  1. Hello , I'm sorry to hear about your recent symptoms. It's understandable that seeing blood in your stool is stressing you out. You mention doing blood tests, was this with your doctor? Blood tests won't always give a full picture of what is going on, and if you haven't already, I would really encourage you to reach out to your doctor, especially with a new symptom like this. While there can be many causes of blood in the stool, your doctor will best be able to help navigate you through figuring out what the cause is. I did also want to share this information with you about rectal bleeding, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/symptoms/rectal-bleeding. I do hope that you and your doctor can get to the bottom of what might causing this. Please know this community is here for you. Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  2. Thank you so much. I did blood tests and everything was normal and good only little elevation in monocytes , crp was 0.17 ( normal range between 0-1 ). So i did colonoscopy and we found out that there is a new inflamed part of the colon around 15 cm and the old 30 cm were good. So the doctor prescribed me cortiment 9mg . This is the first time i take medicine other than pentasa and it is stressing me to be honest . But there is no urge , no abdominal pain i just see blood in stool and i i go toille 1 time only everyday.
I love to share my story and read other people story so i can know that im not alone .

    1. Hi . First, let me say that it is good to hear that you got the colonoscopy and an answer to what is happening. Second, it is certainly understandable that there would be some stress in starting a new medication. I can tell you that cortiment or Budesonide is a fairly common treatment that quite a number of people here have experience with. His is a Forum conversation on the topic: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/stories/budesonide-for-crohns-disease. Of course, everyone's experience can be different. Hoping you see some results soon and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask further questions. Best, Richard (Team Member)
