  1. Hi . Your concerns are certainly understandable and it is good that you have sought out a place you can get information and support. One thing that is important is to communicate your concerns and questions to your doctor to receive guidance. Our patient leader Julie Marie wrote here about important questions to ask the gastroenterologist before a colonoscopy: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/colonoscopy-questions. Another contributor Eshani recommends a colonoscopy diary: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/uc-colonoscopy-diary and Matt wrote here about expectations: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/colonoscopy-expectations. Hope this information is helpful and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask further questions. There are people here who have been where you are and understand. 1. Thankyou I will give those a read I'm really worried because I have 3 herniated discs and a trapped nerve also it's hard for me on the toilet already with my ongoing diarrhea and pain from my back I told the docter about this and she just said tell them if it hurts 🤷 it never doesn't hurt

      1. , I can hear that you're worried about the pain you're experiencing and having to be on the toilet more for the colonoscopy prep. Hopefully you can connect with your doctor about the other questions, and the prep will go okay and the colonoscopy will give you some answers. I'm crossing my fingers that this gets you a step closer to getting relief! Please, if you're comfortable, keep us posted and let us know how things go for you. Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

      2. Hi . I see you mentioning the herniated disks. Mind if I ask if you have any other joint issues and have you ever seen a rheumatologist? I ask because autoimmune conditions can impact the joints and autoimmune arthritic conditions can be comorbid with IBD. Also, if you have been on steroids for IBD, they can impact bone strength. I don't say any of this to frighten you, but to provide the information on things to be aware of and to ask the doctors about. Hoping you can get some relief for the back issues as well as the IBD. 2. Hi Richard no I haven't seen anyone I started with knee problems Wen I was 15 I had electric shocks on one of them for a few months I'm 55 now and have had trouble continuing threw my life with my legs I never understood why Wen I knelt down I got a terrible aching feeling which felt like a burning sensation too I started with back troubles at 25 after my second child was told it was posture I have tmj in my jaw that was diagnosed at around the same time too I have suffered on and off with my neck and shoulders again I've had physio for posture I was told by one doctor I had hip problems in my 40s was given diclofenc but have never actually seen anyone for help I think my docters just think I'm making things up and give me medication I've been on amitriptyline for 15 years now for nerve pain in my right leg I stopped the diclofenc because of bowels I also have contact dermatitis on my scalp which flares up occasionally 'have recently just had a throat pain were my glands are under my right side chin area it was a weird sensation had it a few times quite painful was examined was told no elevated gland but red arch at back of throat but It wasn't sore to me at all at the back of my throat so she said I had globus obviously put down to aniexty then I have developed a huge white patch on my neck she said it was caused by yeast in my body and it's taken the pigment out my skin and has given me some fungal wash says it will take upto 2 years to go and to keep it protected from sun so quite a few things going on I just can't understand why they haven't been put all together something causing it sorry for long post but hopefully I will get some answers soon because wen I raised all this to my docter I was told have you been googling symptoms 🤷

      1. Hi . You certainly have been dealing with a lot, for quite a period of time. My wife, Kelly, was diagnosed with autoimmune juvenile idiopathic arthritis (formally called juvenile RA) at age two, 46 years ago and has collected some other autoimmune conditions in the time since. I brought up the rheumatologist because they have extra years of training in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal diseases and systemic autoimmune conditions. I'm not saying you have an autoimmune arthritic condition or other autoimmune conditions (only a doctor can provide the proper diagnostics), but autoimmune conditions love to piggyback on each other. You deserve to have your concerns heard and please know that you are always entitled to a second opinion. This community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)
