Second opinion please
Hi I have ulcerative colitis for the past 2 years and had 2 courses of prednisone and the first 1 worked.It slowly came back and started the second course last year.did not work aswell.5 weeks ago I started on biologics.About 3 weeks ago I started to feel alot worse.i couldn't eat aches all over,headache,multiple full body sweats at night.ended up going to a n e and got put straight on multiple drips.was kept in over night and let go with some antibiotics feeling no better.had to give up work on Tuesday due to not being able to be safe.3 days of just being in bed trying to eat.lost a stone in a week
So sorry you are going through this! Which biologic are you on? Sometimes you have to give them a couple of months to see improvement. In the meantime, try diet change to help with symptoms. Anything that is natural and helps lower inflammation is good. Have you tried CBD oil? -Elizabeth (team member)
Will have to check in the morning.nope not tried cbd oil.diet has been very bland for months.mostly chicken and rice. What sort of signs might be the first to see of improvement.bowels are worst they have been since it all begun.started with a new little pain today.normally when getting the urge to go I get a feeling on the right hand side.started to get a sharp pain on the left and it seems to be when I have the slightest amount to come out
Maybe try switching it up to fish with steamed veggies or mashed potato? See if there is improvement? Could be the rice that isn't helping. I unfortunately can't have rice. It triggers symptoms. -Elizabeth (team member)
Is this the normal for people starting on injections or am I rare to be so ill from it?Will there definitely start to be improvement by 12 weeks.i don't want to go back on the steroids but the full dose of the is only way I can see getting back to 'normal'
I am not doctor so I couldn't say. But from my experience, I do remember not feeling the best after infusions. Then in a week or two I saw improvement. -Elizabeth (team member)
