Flare up, on amgevita..

Don’t know where to go for information so thought I’d join here!
I first got symptoms of uc when I was pregnant in 2015, after baby was born I got the camera and got it confirmed!
Since then I have been on asacolon, Pentasa, loads of steroids orally and rectal! All of which have never stopped the bleeding.
I started on biologics in September after an 8 week course of steroids.
Was getting on great and had no bleeding at all until a few weeks before Christmas.
Since then I’ve been in a full flare, loosing quite a lot of blood. Been to gp they gave me a short course of steroids but they didn’t work. They said there isn’t anything else they can do at the minute as my consultant is off on holidays 😭
I’m absolutely shattered and have no energy! Also have a throat infection since starting the biologics that won’t clear.
I am so sorry you are going through this @amanda2016 Just to hold you over until your doctor is back in town, perhaps try a liquid diet? Lots of bone broth, easy smoothies, soups. This usually helps me get things under control. I really hope your doctor starts you on a new treatment soon so you can get relief. Keep us posted. Hugs, Elizabeth (team member)
