Will vitamins move through the digestive tract?

I purchase the smallest vitamins available after a blockage from a very large tablet. If it dissolves in the stomach I feel more safe. I call the manufacturer to find out where it dissolves.

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak to this, but I know that enteric-coated or extended release capsules are designed to not dissolve until they are in the intestines. While it is rare, they can get stuck in the digestive tract of those with IBD. This is particularly the case with strictures or if there is already some sort of blockage. It is important to check with your doctor with any sort of blockage, but it sounds like, given what you know about your situation, that it is a good idea to check on the type of pill.
