Gluten-Free Recipes
Living with Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis often comes with food sensitivities. Eating certain things – whether it's spicy food, nuts, or dairy – may cause symptoms to act up. And when abdominal pain and urgency hit, we may wonder what ingredients may be to blame.
Using elimination diets, some people with IBD are able to figure out what exactly is bothering their gastrointestinal tract. And for some folks, this is gluten. A few of our Patient Leaders have written about going gluten-free:
Not everyone with IBD needs to be gluten-free
Of course, when it comes to cooking with IBD, we're all working from a different set of ingredients. Food sensitivities and dietary restrictions vary greatly from person to person, and there is no one diet recommended for Crohn's or ulcerative colitis. But here a few gluten-free recipes that might work for you – all from people who cook, eat, and live with IBD!
