Still living with daily symptoms I would only wish onto the DICKtators of the world. If the collective leaders of America, Russia, Israel, Iran, North Korea and China could all me in living with this personal auto-immune hell then I'll put up with it with no more complaint.

oh my goodness that is so frustrating! I am appalled on your behalf that you're STILL waiting to see a doctor face to face and dealing with daily symptoms. As you point out, if leaders of the world experienced these conditions we might be safe to assume there would be more understanding and action and less "hang in there" as a platitude. Also, sometimes I do think it would be helpful for all doctors to experience the symptoms their patients do, even if only once, to truly be able to understand the reality so many live with. . I don't know what country you are writing from. I've seen that some places, such as the U.K., Canada, and Brazil (and others) can have extreme waits to see a gastroenterologist. Here is an article from 2012 on what Canada might try to do about the issue, yet little has seemed to change: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC3495693/. America also has a shortage of doctors in many areas of medical specialty, although not at the level of some places. Is it possible for your GP to prescribe you any IBD medications? Do you even get a timeline so you have an idea of when an appointment with a specialist may happen? I can't and won't pretend to have any answers, but I do hope there is some avenue you can pursue to get the treatment you need. Best, Richard (Team Member)
