Diagnosed over 1/2 my life
I suffered for many years, especially through my teen years before I was diagnosed. My siblings used to tease me because I had to run to the bathroom after dinner every night and they said I was just trying to get out of doing dishes.
My diagnosis and medical history
I was finally diagnosed in 1992 at 24 years of age. Before being diagnosed, I had an appendectomy.
I have only had one surgery to date, and that was 3 years ago. I remember shortly after the surgery, I looked at my wife and said "Oh my god, I have no pain." I hadn't felt "no pain" for over 30 years.
