I have not seen any discussions relating to the use of Rinvoq to treat UC so I thought I would start the discussion.
Has anyone here started taking Rinvoq? I started taking it in May of this year (2022) because it just became approved for use in Ulcerative Colitis patients. So far, I did not seem to be having any negative side effects. However, I have now been putting that into question since I started having strange skin issues for the last month. Skin conditions such as cancer have been reported with this medication and I’m a bit concerned, as was my GI, upon examining these off color spots on the center left side of my back. It’s been 3-4 weeks since the spots were discovered so Shingles was ruled out since they didn’t improve or get worse. I have also been having the pins and needles sensation with itching all over my entire back. I have been taking Gabapentin which keeps the tingling feeling at a minimum but if I don’t take the med on time the pins and needles, tingling and even numbness come back full force. I was told it could be neurological but it is still uncertain.
Overall, I’m asking if anyone else experienced these symptoms or have any stories of being on Rinvoq?
It could be completely unrelated but I have an appointment with a Dermatologist in October 2022 to try to get to the root of the problem.
