  1. "Hey IBD community, sorry I have been very quite , been really really struggling a lot with my health and I honestly want to throw my stomach away 👍🏻Had my appointment with the GI doctor and had tests done , and they said they can’t see anything and no need to do further tests , feel like im back at square one again , just need some encouragement to keep going as I don’t trust doctors anymore
    Xx"

    1. I hear ya and totally get it. Doctors look at the test results and it can be frustrating. Have you requested a colonoscopy? I'm curious if they tested for inflammation or calprotectin? Do you keep a food diary? Maybe try eliminating certain foods then reintroduce them one at a time to see how you feel after each.
The pain is real and not in your head.
Let us know how you get on.

    2. it’s so annoying isn’t it , so That was the first test I had , then I had camera down my throat , then they said they were going to do a capsule endoscopy but never did , and now going to get a second opinion I think and try new doctors xx

    3. Unfortunately we need to find a doctor or doctors that will listen so getting a second opinion is a good idea sometimes, sad but true.

  2. "So my appointment with the gastric doctor is in two weeks , honestly feeling so nervous and anxious about it . What’s very frustrating is that it’s on the phone so have no idea how they are going to diagnose me 👍🏻But hopefully will go okay and will get some answers and pointed in the right direction. Xxx"

    1. Hopefully the phone conversation is just to get background information and set you up for an in-person appointment. Like you stated, at least the phone call should get you "pointed in the right direction." Wishing you the best. Air hugs!--Traci, UC-IBD Team Member

    2. I second what Traci says. Hopefully it is to understand your background and symptoms and from there you can go in for proper testing. Here is an article that goes over diagnostic testing: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/diagnostic-tests-and-procedures Let us know if you have any questions. Hugs, Elizabeth (team member)

  3. "Feeling meh , not good , not bad . But my list of foods I can’t have is getting longer and longer so that’s fun . My appointment with the gastro doctor is in a month’s time , so hopefully will be referred for the camera test , trying to keep positive but hard when your body is fighting against you . Mental health has been awful, have so many triggers and bad days but I can get through it 😊
    Saffy xx"

    1. Hi , my heart goes out to you. I know many in our community can completely relate. Staying positive can certainly be challenging when you're not feeling well. I truly hope you know our community is here to support you anytime, especially on those bad days. Please don't hesitate to reach out. Sending hugs. -Jessica, IBD Team Member

    2. I'm sorry you aren't feeling the best but I hear such strength in your voice and positivity. That is excellent. This journey is hard and remaining positive and strong mentally is half the battle. We will always have our ups and down, and we are allowed to be human and struggle. But the important thing is that we continue fighting and never lose hope. I hope your upcoming appointment offers you the info you need to better your health. Are you currently on any treatment to help with symptoms? I know how hard it is to not be able to hardly eat anything. -Elizabeth (team member)

    3. Thankyou so much that means more than you know , it’s true and I’m definitely feeling it . I’m currently on medication that i take 20 minutes before eating and it stop me going to the toliet right after I eat , that has helped so much . But I can’t eat without that medication which clearly that’s not normal , so just waiting for my phone call appointment with the gastro doctor xx

    4. I hope you get some answers during your appointment. When was the last time you had a colonoscopy? -Elizabeth (team member)

    5. so I had one about a year ago I think and they said they didn’t see anything so needed further investigation, but I’m so worried that I’m not going to be Listened to and I don’t have a lot of faith in doctors xxxxxxx

    6. I hear you. There are always bad apples in every industry. Are you able to see another doctor and ask for a colonoscopy. Get a different set of eyes looking at your case? -Elizabeth (team member)

  4. "Update : they have moved my hospital appointment again , was supposed to be next month , now they have moved it to June . Trying not to get down or upset but my trust in doctors and hospitals are getting lower and lower . Feeling very frustrated and currently in limo land . How long did it take for anyone to be diagnosed with crohns ?? Please leave comment and help me understand x"

    1. I'm so sorry to hear this. Is there anyway to call and explain that you need to be seen urgently and to please be put on a cancellation list. People cancel all the time. Also, if things get worse, I would just go to the ER to be seen. It is not worth risking your health. -Elizabeth (team member)

    2. I will definitely think about doing that , as it’s just getting ridiculous. I’m so thankful that I have people like you to help me through this . I will ring tomro and see what happens.

    3. Let us know how are you are doing. Big hugs, Elizabeth (team member)

    4. hey sorry I’ve been very quiet, been in and out of feeling okay then not , then okay , then not . So it’s 1 month until my appointment, and I’m feeling very anxious and scared as I’m worried I won’t be listened to and if they don’t find anything and then say well that’s all we can do 😞 xxxxxx
